(2001-2005) Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers Fanfiction, by Alex Reynard

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers has always been my favorite cartoon ever. I love all the characters, especially Gadget. When I first started getting online in 2001, I hunted down and read practically every bit of CDRR fanfiction I could get my paws on. I loved it so much, I wanted to create my own. Some of these stories are admittedly teetering on the precipice of Mary-Sue-ness, but I like to think that these were like practice runs. Fanfiction is easy and forgiving. It provided a comfortable way to practice my writing techniques until it was time to move on. Plus, the were a lot of fun. :)

In addition to regular fanfiction, I've also written quite a few yiffy tales of my favorite rodents. There's some strange kinks here and there, I admit, but overall I tried to keep things as cute as possible.

(2003) Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis Fanfiction, by Alex Reynard

I was powerfully moved by the 2001 film Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis, written by Katsuhito Otomo and directed by Rintaro. The animation was eye-popping, the story incredibly complex and the characters... I really felt a powerful connection with them.

I wrote four short stories, all taking place after the ending of the movie. They ended up surprising me. I think it's some of my most poetic writing ever.

Also, these stories contain ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF SPOILERS. No one should read them unless they have seen the film first. It really is worth seeing, and the stories won't make any sense if you haven't seen the film first.

A Fall From Grace, by Straif

This is actually a quick series that was inspired by a talk with my mate while we were driving home. Somehow we got onto the topic of what I'd do if someone ever hurt him and I went off on a rant. That night, it popped into my head that I finally had a premise for introducing one of the first characters I ever made that explained why he was as sociopathic as he was.

So, I took my rant, amped it up by about two or three thousand and boom. I have an background story for a char that I've been using forever but never really fleshed out. It's weird how sometimes you get the inspiration out of nowhere. And before the police are called, no. This is in no way a reflection of my personality. This is a very broken, sociopathic, crazy character that I use when I need broken, sociopathic plot progression. Heh.

But the sad fact was despite being a strong independent lioness with a rich background she still had to do what she was asked of, shifting, her dress snagged on her fur again. It was nice dress despite this though complementing her golden brown fur coat one of the only things she was allowed to choose.

~ Low cut and rather dangerously revealing ~

She thought with a slight smirk something to stir up the crowds and annoy father in the interests of rebellion.

Making its way quietly through the city fast moving free-way the black limo made its way out of the crowed districts into the more open park reserve underneath vast green spindly trees its destination a large mansion set over a lake. But the smooth trip through the scenic country went unnoticed as an air of tension built up within eyes fully fixed on each other.

"You will do as you are told and will at all times show respect to me and the others" growled the lion dressed in a smart tuxedo glaring at her and pressed his hand against her knee fixing his eyes intensely on her. "Is that clear Tir-Ri-Ki!"

Shifting her eyes elsewhere Tirral-Ri deflected his glare and replied tiresomely "yes father" She hated being called by her proper name, she preferred just called Tirral and added a retaliatory sigh knowing how it annoys him but he was too good to show it.

She absolutely detested these so called social gatherings filled with other wealthy up stuck snobbish families and wealthy businesses, nothing more than a over dressed trade and business meeting, but the one thing she was so up tight more so today than ever was that she caught sent that her father was planning an arranged marriage to another family to seal a trade alliance and she had little say in this, why else had he not reacted to her barrage of tantrums and mood swings.

Looking about for some sort of distraction or conversation, anything to break this deadlock with her father, ridding with her was khan the one eyed tiger a bodyguard not much of a talker anyway, then there was her personal aid a black panther Sheba dress in a creamy beige dress with gold but she was not willing to provoke her fathers tempered wraith.
Slumping in defeat folding her arms she thought of her mother no longer with her, of all the people who she loved her mother was the one gave her strength when ever she was upset, she both hated and loved her father who was only trying to do his best for them but time seemed so harsh so fast, all her sisters had been married off and now being the youngest of the litter was the last, but it was all too soon to her eyes.

"Mother would disagree" Tirral-Ri whispered darkly throwing in her trump card staring at the floor with tears welling in her eyes.

There came a long drawn out sigh from him drawing her attention back to him to see his face soften before speaking.

"I know this is hard on you of what I ask but we must keep up our presence in theses gatherings, there are those who conspire against us and all we as a family have made of ourselves."
Tirral-Ri knew that well enough herself as he continued "I know that you miss her very much but we have to be brave, I'm doing this for your benefit as well as mine so trust me on this. Hey?"
She didn't really believe him but still tried to put a smile on as he wiped away her tear and brushing back her hair.

"That's my girl, remember I love you and only want what's best for my family so don't need to date all the boys"

"Dad!!!" she cried fuming shocked by his black humour watching him chuckle.

"Ok! Ok! I'm kidding but listen, I'm not going to marry you this instant to some total stranger this soiree is about introducing you to a potential suitor...you already understand it's political statement and what it will say about us as a unified family front to the other families when we arrive.."

There was a silent pause as they shared a father-daughter moment just before the clipping voice of the chauffeur interrupted. "Mr Leon we have arrived"

"Thank you." Father replied flatly flicking off the intercom without moving, still staring at him Tirral-Ri started to giggle, causing Leon's brows to furrow making her laugh even louder unable to control her emotions as all that pent up emotion began to flow out elevating all that stress she had coming here.
Never able to truly understand his daughter Leon tried to suppress his own smile with a comical expression of sour lemons as now both Sheba and Tirral clutched each other in uncontrollable laughter until even a faint crease graced the lines of khans constant moody face, outside the chauffeur opening the passenger door had a bemused face never able to work out quite what was truly going on.

Subsiding now the tension dispersed they all began to exit the limo, kharn first followed by Leon and lastly with Sheba and Tirral tittering sharing some secret joke. Before them lay an impressive manor with tall white stone pillars and exotic plants decorating the stairs up to the entrance which was busy with a constant flow of guests and servants, this certain pad had the boastings of being the largest in the entire city overseeing the impressive lake that shimmered silvery-blue under the bright moonlight.

Craning her neck to just to take in the whole front of the build a cool wind blew through her open dress though it wasn't the cold that made her shiver more of a thought she had, just as Leon called to her.

"Come we go in together" he motioned taking her hand and nodding to an overdressed butler leading the way up the stairs with a stiff composure.

Inside the main entrance the building seemed to open right up into a large open hallway that led then into a even more spectacular hall decorated in rich architecture and expensive art, Tirral's eyes widened gasping at the scene as below her hundreds of people mingled and talked above the music of an unseen orchestra all dressed in smart suits and fancy costumes, besides them the butler coughed politely and then in an surprisingly loud voice announced their arrival to the on looking people. Watching some of the people turn to regard the new guests Tirral felt their gazing focus on her with that sensation of intimidation, she almost made the mistake of looking down at herself if doubting her own dress was too exposing of her body's natural assets, but never got enough chance to contemplate that as they entered the fray, just so many people so many clans, prides, families and even the odd wealthy tycoon.

Pushing into the crowed there were some familiar faces, bust most admittedly were alien to her. On entering the mass she found her self being bombarded by greetings and curious questions that all seem to become one loud hubbub of noise not to mention the all pervading odours of different scents. The sheer pressure of so many people overwhelming doing her best to return them even her training though this she kept behind a tight smile and elegant composure. Though every face seemed to hold a neutral expression, many especially of females her age held snobbish look distaste or false smiles, but one or two had well did seem to hold a genuine smile. The only thing that kept her from being cut off was to sticking with Leon walking in his wake of people making room for him keeping their distance with respects to his prowess and reputation.

Then on reaching the other side near to the raised orchestra platform and assembled team of servants they bumped into a group of Tigers called the Bengal's old friends and business partners.

~ The Bengal's a wealthy family from the Tygarian province who have strong links in the importing businesses and fathers closest friend ~ Tirral prompted herself taught in business smarts to always know who everyone was.

With them walking hand in hand with the youngest male was another lioness Tirral-Ri instantly recognised as her eldest sister who nodded with a polite smile.

"Leon!....How very good to see you, I was afraid you were going to leave me alone to contend with this mob" the elder male spoke warmly greeting Leon.

"Ah you know me always late Tiberius" dismissed Leon playfully, turning next to kiss Tiberious wife hand and then greeting his son and daughter who excused themselves from the reunion whilst kharn and Sheba floated around at a respectable distance

"Well if it isn't young miss Tir-Ri-Ki" smiled Tiberius stooping to lick her hand politely who returned it with a curtsy before he turned back to Leon leaving Tirral-Ri to just listen as the two debated.

Walking up to Tirral her sister Shirral greeted her.

"Well if isn't my dear little sibling Tirral " She spoke with a light manner full of joy

"Nice to meet you too sister" Delighted Tirral hugging her "Shirral I have missed you"

"And I you Tirral, my haven't you grown a lot!" Shirral remarked holding her out. "Finally blossoming out into a adult"

Tirral blushed a bit listerning to her talking about her body, she always was shy in the company of her sister whom she looked up to so much.

"Yes...well it has been a long time now that you are married?" Tirral replied looking at her mate besides Shirral forgetting the tiger's name.

"Oh yes married life can be so blissful I guess I keep getting preoccupied, isn't that right Raja my mate" Cooed Shirral rubbing against him stroking Raja under the chin.

Tirral rolled her eyes in disgust knowing what she was talking about and lost interest in talking to her.

"Aww don't be like that, you will enjoy it just as much, once you have tried it." Grinned Shirral grasping the front of Raja's trousers making him gasp eyes wide with surprise. Tirral's ears flattened and looked at her sister but she just giggled.
"No need to scowl dearest sister you will discover on your own time, besides I already know fathers looking for a mate for you tonight, well I've got to go now so enjoy the evening."

Leading her husband away Shirral left Tirral alone with the two family's still discussing.

"So how are things going any news on Tremi-Ri's business stock sales?" Asked Tiberious.

"Still in negations, has a new bidder from outside the city that seems to showing rather too much flash."
Replied Leon, swiping drinks from a passing waiter and passing one to Tiberious.

"Hmm I've had similar dealings in the recent weeks, but less on that I heard old silver claw firm been doing well despite the hit." As the tiger continued to rumble on, there was a movement behind him that caught Tirral-Ri's eye.

"So finally arrived aren't you going to greet me Leo!" came a jovial voice, turning Leon saw an male Fox dressed in fine aristocrat attire and gave a exclamation. "Pax! Oh I didn't see you there...where are my manners. This is Tiberius an old friend...Tiberius meet Todd Paxter MP of the Solodad district.

"Pleased to meet you" Paxter gestured with little eccentricity. "Like wise" replied Tiberious dryly leaving Tirral-Ri with not much in the way of doubt that neither got on well with each other but to be calling father by his nickname had mean there was more going on than what met her eyes.

"Anyway by you admission Mr Leon I'd like to introduce my son Reynard." Ears pricking up, nose flaring Tirral-Ri cottoned on to what was going on as she saw that the fox wasn't alone, as joining the meeting was a younger fox like his dressed smartly with a slick hair cut and smooth complexion turned to look at her.

~ Was this that who father was going to marry her to! ~

Tightness cramped her stomach feeling herself becoming unwell. Glancing momentarily to Father with a questioning gaze who made no reply as Reynard made a sweeping bow and introduced him to her.

"I am Reynard Paxter pleased to meet your acquaintance" The fox spoke his face showed a neutral smile not enough to be a threat nor a smug grin but yet.....Quite unprepared by this formal greeting Tirral-Ri faltered as he kissed her hand lightly but still held it as he looked up to her eyes. "Please and who might the name of this girl I stand humbly before"

Refraining hard from exposing any of her emotions Tirral-Ri gave a curtsey and replied "I'm Tir-Ri-Ki pleased to meet you" feeling his bright blue eyes watching her intently.

"Splendid!" Announced Paxter "well we have some business still to be discussed why don't we leave them to it"

"Good Idea" Nodded Leon ignoring the alarmed looks in his daughters eyes as he and kharn moved away.

Watching her father vanish through the crowed and knew Sheba wouldn't intervene, Tirral-Ri had no real idea of what she was to do...

~ This was what he planned all along! ~

And still faced a long night ahead, turning scratching her arm as she always did when nervous face Reynard who seem to have not let down his smart stature seemingly flowing with charisma.

"I know what your thinking, being pushed together like this I'm just as new to this as you are" he spoke in that posh accent of his, ~ ‘liar' ~ she sourly thought ~ bet your loving every minuet knowing what's going to happen, how many more suitors did she have to face ~. Stopping by the large banquet table she chose a few select items and sat down on a bench trying to at least engage in some sort of conversation with Reynarld.

As time passed the two sat and talked watching others continue to mingle and dance, but his drawn out talks skirting round any real point tired her, to the verge of bringing the discussion to an end with a few choice words to her lips but bit her tongue.

" Oh how so" she replied weakly getting up seeking a desperate way out of this trap, his choice of after shave invading her nose causing it to twitch. "I feel a little overwhelmed by this conversation this being such a momentous event"

"Aye it shouldn't be like that, I'm just a nervous about such prospects but im a kind enough guy to understand, what I'm saying is..."

A sharp unimpressed look from her caused the boy to faultier realising this approach wasn't working.

"Don't... Just don't try to pretend" she strained trying hard to retain her composure, spotting a bathroom close at hand.

Chasing after her, Reynard's voice started to waver. "Please give me a chance to..." the door closed swiftly behind her.
